The ending to this first book is intense and exciting, and made me want to pick up the conclusion to the duology fairly soon. And so should you, you know, since I’m using my massive sheballs to command your interest in this series. Eon’s master, Heuris Brannon, places all his hope and dwindling wealth into his pupil, who is able to see all twelve dragons in minds’ sight.

It is forbidden for females to practice the Dragon Magic; this is due to common belief that the female eye, so practised in looking at itself, cannot see other things in life with true clarity. She lives in an Asian culture were women can never hope to strive for the same position as a man: Sometimes, when a book is extremely popular and well-loved by everyone in the known universe and possibly beyond, I dig in my heels and simply refuse to read it for no good reason.

I dunno, but if I missed one page, I didn’t really understand what was happening anymore. And to avoid more abuse Eon lived almost religiously by that one thought, resulting in a sociopath feel to the POV but thats neither here or there.


You haven’t read about EONA I felt that the writing was smooth eno rich descriptions and powerful characters.

He was forced to be more male. This was one very beautifully written, very engaging, but very frustrating book of the Fantasy genre variety. I didn’t really watch soap operas only when I was very sick and could do nothing more than lie in bed and dragneye daytime tvbut I and apparently many others found this plot device revolting.

I noticed that a lot of our concepts are not used in Eon. Emotions are feminine therefore Eon should not feel.

Luckily, at the end, only the Dragon knows whom and why they choose for their human vessel. Although I admit, I missed the romance and some tear-inducing moments in this rebrn, the impeccable, magnificent world created by Alison Goodman completely captured my imagination and made me forget about the slight deficiencies in characterization. A girl takes one drug to prevent menstruation, and another that has effects and side-effects similar to performance-enhancing drugs.

I also like Lord Ido’s character, his is one of the more well-developed ones, and I’m a sucker for ambiguously evil anti-heroes.

The world building is a little bit strange to me. Eona suspects Lord Dragonehe and realises he has masterminded his own plan, killing all other Dragoneyes and apprentices in a bid for more power. Families can talk about European- and Asian-influenced fantasy.
